Manufacturing PMIs are important indicators for global investors since they show the performance of an economy’s manufacturing industry.
In this series, we’ll take a look at the January 2018 manufacturing PMI reports of major developed nations, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Europe, Japan, Germany, and France. We’ve also seen that major developed market indexes, including the S&P 500 Index (SPX-INDEX), the FTSE 100 Index (UKX-INDEX), the CAC 40 Index (PX1-INDEX), and the DAX Index (DAX-INDEX), already showed strong performances in January 2018.
The manufacturing PMI report shows the trend of production output, new orders, export orders, and employment activity in the manufacturing sector. In the next part of this series, we’ll analyze the performance of the final US Manufacturing PMI for January 2018.
