What to Expect from HPE’s Revenue and Earnings Growth in Fiscal 2018
Revenue expected to fall 16.2% in fiscal 2018
As we saw in the previous part of this series, Wall Street analysts expect revenue declines of 38% YoY (year-over-year) for HPE in fiscal 1Q18. They expect its revenues to fall 5.5% YoY to $7.0 billion in fiscal 2Q18 compared to $11.4 billion in fiscal 2Q17. Its revenue is expected to fall 16.2% YoY to $29.1 billion in fiscal 2018 and rise 0.7% YoY to $29.3 in fiscal 2019. Analysts expect the firm’s revenue to rise 2.1% YoY to $29.9 billion in fiscal 2020.
HPE’s non-GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) EPS (earnings per share) could fall 44% YoY in fiscal 1Q18 to $0.22 and 26% YoY to $0.26 in fiscal 2Q18. In fiscal 2018, analysts have estimated HPE’s earnings to decline 16% YoY to $1.18. Its EPS is estimated to rise 9% YoY in fiscal 2019 to $1.29.

Revenue rose in the last two quarters for HPE
After adjusting for various divestures and spin-offs for Hewlett Packard Enterprise, the firm had posted revenue growth of 4.6% in fiscal 4Q17 and 2.2% in fiscal 3Q17. Revenue, however, was severely impacted in the prior four quarters with the sales declining 12.8% in 2Q17, 11.6% in 1Q17, 9.6% in 4Q16, and 5.6% in 3Q16.
